The Talbott Advisory Group began in 2019 as Talbott & Co., a virtual Client Advisory Accounting Services firm founded by Daniel Talbott. The firm's mission was to provide high-quality, client-focused accounting and advisory services to small businesses, with a particular focus on helping clients navigate complex financial challenges.

In 2022, Talbott & Co. expanded its offerings by introducing fractional CFO services, allowing the firm to provide strategic financial leadership to its clients. This addition enabled the firm to assist businesses in scaling effectively, improving profitability, and making data-driven financial decisions. By 2023, Talbott & Co. had established itself as a trusted partner for small businesses and recognized a growing demand for expertise in Mergers and Acquisitions. The firm added M&A Advisory services to support business owners in preparing for and navigating the process of buying or selling their businesses. To align with this strategic pivot, Talbott & Co. partnered with eXp Commercial and rebranded as the Talbott Advisory Group.

The rebrand marked the firm’s evolution into a national player in business sales, specializing in brokering deals for Main Street and lower middle-market businesses across the United States. The Talbott Advisory Group continues to provide expert guidance to business owners, offering a white-glove, investment banking-level experience for those seeking to exit or grow their businesses through acquisition.

Daniel Talbott began his career with nearly a decade in the surety industry, developing expertise in risk management and business operations. His own entrepreneurial experience, marked by cash flow and tax challenges, inspired a pivot into accounting to help others avoid similar struggles.

Daniel became a trailblazer in venture-backed virtual Client Advisory Accounting Services (CAAS) firms, helping scale two virtual firm startups to over $100 million valuations, raising $150 million in venture capital, and redefining how accounting practices deliver value to clients.

In 2019, Daniel founded Talbott & Co., offering virtual accounting and advisory services that expanded to include fractional CFO solutions. In 2023, the firm transitioned into M&A, rebranding as Talbott Advisory Group to specialize in brokering business sales nationwide.
